Museum Night 2025
During Museum Night, Treehouse NDSM came alive with transformation — in every sense. The program, Stories of an Evolving Artist, brought together resident and guest artists in a constellation of performances, installations, and collective experiences. Highlights of the night included Freed from Desire, Coven of the Senses, the Wearable Art Fashion Show, Collaborative Drawing Experience, and Tarot & Witchcraft, alongside music, food, and the late-night after-party Witches Brew. Every corner of Treehouse was glowing — filled with people, lights, and stories of change.

Museum Night 2025 at Treehouse NDSM
Stories of an Evolving Artist - Curated by Rika Maja Duevel
On November 1st, I had the honour to present my installation “We Fly With All We Are” during Museum Night Amsterdam at Treehouse NDSM, as part of the group exhibition Stories of an Evolving Artist, curated by Rika Maja Duevel.
It was one of those nights when art, emotion, and community merge into something unforgettable.
My installation began with a simple, almost childlike image — a giant teddy bear sitting on a stool, holding the thread of a colourful kite. Yet beneath that softness lies a story of identity, body, acceptance, and transformation.
At the bear’s feet lay pieces of fabric carrying fragments of songs that once spoke to my struggles: the confusion, the loneliness, the feeling of not fitting in. They represent the weight of my teenage years, when being different — being a “big boy” — made me want to hide.
The kite above tells another part of the story. On its vibrant tails, I wrote lyrics that speak of courage, freedom, and the joy of embracing who I am. Words that helped me reconnect with my body, my creativity, and my voice. Today, what once felt heavy now helps me rise.

Being part of this exhibition felt deeply personal. My work stood not as an isolated piece, but as a living dialogue with others — with visitors, with fellow artists, with the wind that moved quietly through the NDSM halls.
It reminded me that transformation isn’t a single event. It’s a constant act of courage — of learning to live fully, even when we carry the traces of what once hurt us.
That night, my teddy bear wasn’t hiding anymore. It sat proud and gentle, holding the kite string tight.
And I, too, felt lighter — grateful to be part of this creative community that celebrates imperfection, growth, and freedom.
To everyone who came, watched, asked, smiled — thank you for becoming part of my story.
