🌈 Calendar of Events – Pride Art Route @ Treehouse NDSM

From July 22nd to August 3rd, Treehouse became a vibrant queer hub as part of Pride Art Route 2025.

🎨 The exhibition was open daily from 13:00 to 18:00, with free entrance at the Treehouse Pavilion.

💛 During the exhibition, visitors also had the opportunity to donate in support of LGBT Asylum Support, an organisation committed to protecting the rights and dignity of LGBTQ+ asylum seekers in the Netherlands.

Alongside the exhibition, we hosted a series of queer workshops, performances, and community happenings that filled Treehouse with creativity, connection, and joy.

Special Events & Extended Hours

22.07 – Grand Opening Night - Vernissage
The opening evening set the tone for the entire event. From 18:00, visitors enjoyed free creative activities inspired by our upcoming workshops. At 19:00, the artists introduced their work in warm and engaging presentations, and at 20:30, the evening lit up with live music by Guido Hoek, followed by a captivating and surprising performance from a Drag King. Drinks and food created a festive atmosphere where everyone mingled, celebrated Pride, and embraced the community spirit.

24.07 – Gender Fluid Jockstrap Workshop by Fanny Karaman
Participants discovered how to make their own jockstrap, for any body type, selecting their size in advance and choosing lace on the day. The two-hour session was both playful and empowering, blending craftsmanship with conversations about gender and body positivity.

25.07 – Seven Deadly Zines by Meat_daughter x Haus of Trout
This creative zine-making workshop invited participants to explore their favourite deadly sin—Wrath, Gluttony, Lust, or beyond—through cutting, pasting, and storytelling. The tradition of queer zinemaking came alive in an atmosphere of laughter, deep reflection, and unapologetic self-expression.

27.07 – Eco-Printing Workshop by Gabriele Bonomi (Vegan Bear Lab)
An afternoon dedicated to nature’s pigments and botanical ghosts. Participants experimented with plants, herbs, and vegetable scraps to create delicate imprints on paper, fabric, and other surfaces. The session blended artistic technique with poetic reflection on sustainability and beauty.

28.07 – Transformations – In Art and In Life by Vico Persson
In this hands-on workshop, Vico guided attendees through the process of turning “nothing” into art. Using everyday materials, participants transformed objects and ideas while reflecting on transformation as a metaphor for personal growth.

30.07 – Rainbow Craft Club by Bruna Sousa
A joyful, communal crafting session where everyone created jewelry, accessories, and signs for Pride celebrations. Tables overflowed with colors, materials, and conversations, turning the space into a rainbow-filled creative hub.

31.07 – Pride 2025 Journey: Bookmaking Workshop by Rika Maja Duevel
Participants learned how to make handmade books in two different styles, then began collecting their own Pride memories inside them. Decorative papers, inks, and personal keepsakes came together to form truly unique objects full of sentiment and artistry.

31.07 – Play ____ by Yung Tuan
A serene and playful exploration of sound, using delicate percussion, toys, found materials, and personal instruments brought by participants. The workshop created a peaceful, queer-safe space for collective music-making and restorative listening.

01.08 – Love Extravaganza – Queer Dinner Show & Open Mic by Suzanne Allegonda & Vegan Bear Chef
An unforgettable evening of food, performance, and sparkle in honour of queer love. Guests enjoyed a 3-course vegan dinner, each dish paired with performances and open-mic moments that celebrated queerness through taste, art, and togetherness.

09.08 – Enorma’s Grand Tour d’Italia by Enorma Jean and Vegan Bear Chef
The grand finale brought drag, food, and storytelling together in spectacular fashion. Enorma Jean, with dazzling presence and sharp wit, guided guests through a “tour” of Italy—each stop revealing a chapter of her life, matched by the Vegan Bear Chef’s culinary creations. Music, memories, and unapologetic drag performance made it a night to remember.
